During and after the show we were delighted to receive a flood of congratulatory letters and emails from visitors to the show and would like to share some of their comments with you…
"I just wanted to congratulate you on a great show. We visited yesterday and thought it was a really interesting mix of exhibitors and attractions. It was the best boat show we've been to and I wish you every success for the future."
Catriona Essenhigh
"Thank you for having the show at this great venue - we travelled down from Edinburgh this weekend and loved the focal point of the pool, it makes a huge difference...The Marines were great, interesting mix of boats on display and I hope it is a success and everyone returns to Earl's Court!"

"I visited the Earls Court Boat Show yesterday (Sunday) with my husband and I would just like to say "thank you" to those who had the inspiration and, for endeavoring to put on the best show they could with, what it appears, little support from the large manufacturers and the industry. Well, we thoroughly enjoyed the show! It was well laid out, Earls Court have certainly improved their standard, although it was a little bit surreal moving from EC2 to EC1 with the changes in colouring and lighting (probably the effect of a pint of Guinness though!). All facilities were easily accessible around the outskirts of the arena and it was a pleasure to be able to talk to some of the smaller manufacturers many of whom, I believe, were there because they wanted to be rather than they felt they should be in order to keep some sort of market share! It was also wonderful that you didn't succumb to the obscene powerboat display stands; which, rather than endearing me to powerboats push me the other way as I find their brashness goes quite against my pleasure of sailing and individuality. A lot of interest was shown in the classic boats - good to see them against the more modern examples and the Inland Waterways put on a delightful display. Congratulations also must go to Whyte & Mackay for their support; especially to Master Willie Tait who is an excellent emissary for their product... Thank you for providing me with the opportunity to once again enjoy a boat show which seemed to be for all people who enjoy sailing and not just for the corporate sailors or those whose boat is an extension of their car. Thank you again and......good luck.”

"As a visitor to the Whyte & Mackay Earls Court Boat Show, I felt the show offered a good mix of water sport activity, variety of entertainment - it was a show for the people."

"Just a note to say that we all thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Earls Court and were met by one of your young ladies who escorted us to the Whyte and Mackay stand for an early morning snifter - very pleasant and much appreciated by all. We all felt that the show was wonderful and very well presented indeed... Having worked in the industry for many years I was keen to meet old friends and seek their view on the show. You will be delighted to know that the response I heard from virtually all of them was that they would be back... Congratulations on an excellent event and may I wish you and your team every success for the future."

"Congratulations on putting the Show together. I had the opportunity to speak with many of the Exhibitors who were delighted to be at Earls Court. The majority reported, better than expected sales. They all liked the atmosphere and ambience and several were pleased to tell me how co-operative the Staff and Tradesmen had been at the setting up prior to opening. From my point of view as a Visitor, one could sense a very buoyant atmosphere fuelled by the enthusiasm of everybody present, Exhibitors and Visitors alike. Next year, I look forward to seeing more equipment Manufacturers and Retailers showing their wares…Again my congratulations and thanks. I look forward to seeing you at Earls Court next year."

"I had the pleasure, yesterday, of attending the new Earls Court Boat Show. I went with my wife and I had to say we both thoroughly enjoyed the day and would like to thank you… All the exhibitors I spoke to were happy and determined to come back next year. Some of them are already talking about larger stands. So the purpose of this email is to say thank you, keep up the good work…Perhaps now the show is a success, the yachting press will not give in to the pressure they were obviously under this year, not to support you and will have the decency to not only have stands next year but to give true and accurate write ups on the show and the exhibitors products."

“It was a very enjoyable show which I think will become very well known over the next few years.”
